Achieve The Look: Natural Beauty

As much as I advocate the runway acting as the ultimate creative outlet for a designer, looks are easier to emulate when there’s little to no transition into real life wearability. This certainly applies to makeup, where a dramatic eye may not be office appropriate. The fall runways featured many natural looks that are easy to imitate, universally flattering, and will highlight your natural beauty.

Having a solid base is key to achieving the look, so drinking lots of water, staying out of the sun, and maintaining a skin care regimen that works for you will help to achieve glowing skin. Although foundation isn’t necessary, apply if you wish to cover up any discoloration. Combat under eye circles and blemishes with concealer a shade lighter than your foundation, and set with a loose powder. To add greater dimension to your face, you may use a highlighter under the arch of your eye, on your cupid’s bow, and on the tops of your cheekbones. Swipe a hint of light pink blush onto the apples of your cheeks, and set the look with some nude or light pink lip gloss, or a creamy lipstick. Statement eyebrows were also a big trend in the fall collections, yet they are easy to copy without going overboard. Simply groom eyebrows with an eyebrow brush and gently fill in brows to hide any sparse areas, or to add a more defined shape. Take a peek at the slideshow below to see my overview of products that will help you achieve this look.
