Estee Lauder’s Heavy Petals Nail Lacquer
As with all things Estee Lauder, the brand’s Pure Color Nail Lacquers are a worthwhile investment. Not only do they come in colors you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere, but the polishes have the perfect consistency, are easy to apply, and last much longer than others on the market. Tom Pecheux, the brand’s Creative Director, assembled the Paris-inspired Heavy Petals collection for spring 2013, emulating “bouquets from the flower markets, the pretty pastels of children’s carousels, and the pops of color from macarons.” Released January 1st, the palette, featuring colors such as Dilettante, Absinthe, and Narcissist, is sure to oust those post-holiday blues.
Keds has constantly reinvented itself, all while staying true to its quality-made and affordable aesthetic (I, for one, have worn over five pairs of Keds from childhood into adulthood!). Following its recent (and uber successful) collaborations with Madewell and Taylor Swift, the brand’s newest collaboration, with designer Kate Spade, hits stores in February. Spade’s trademark polkda dots and bright colors are present, as is color-blocking, gingham, and pointed toes. Shoes will be available at both Kate Spade and Nordstrom stores, as well as Nordstrom.com.
Giorgio Armani Pop Collection Spring 2013
2012 was the year of bold color, from dip-dyed hair to the neon trend that shows no signs of slowing down. Giorgio Armani’s Pop Collection for Spring 2013 certainly follows suit, with bright colors (High Density Orange, Fuchsia, and Swimming Pool Turquoise) accentuated by neutral palette. The collection includes Face & Eye Bliss palettes that feature a peach-hued blush and eyeshadow combo, new shades of Face Fabric and Rouge D’Armani Sheers, and two new bold Blushing Fabrics-the blush equivalent to Face Fabric (a favorite of many makeup artists, including Mally Roncal).
