Six months following the end of the holiday season, the long 4th of July weekend marks the first real break, in the time since, on the American calendar. This week, it seems as though everyone’s minds have left for vacation prematurely, and rightfully so. I’ll be heading to Michigan tomorrow to spend time with my family and friends (and one-year-old golden retriever, Pippa!), and look forward to stepping away from this sweltering NYC summer for a bit. Also on the agenda: taking advantage of pools and nature, tasting everything Dairy Queen has to offer (enough of those coupons and tempting ads when a DQ is nowhere in sight!), cooking with my mom, and heading out on “fun drives” (driving with no specific destination in mind). Hope you have a great holiday!

Momofuku Milk Bar’s Cereal Milk ice cream (with Corn Flakes topping), and Birthday Cake truffle.
Summer reading material, two of which feature the wives of literary heroes.
Dream wallet from Tory Burch with eyelet detailing that’s not too far from a dress I wore as a kid (and maybe wish I could wear now…)
Summer uniform (+ lots and lots of sunscreen), by Zinke.
